Carmelo Anthony is likely to be at the center of trade talks again all offseason, as everyone knows the New York Knicks would be happy with just about any taker.
Even Anthony knows it.
Anyway, the first team mentioned when you’re talking about Anthony and trades is always the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Knicks are a disappointment. The Clippers are a disappointment. A trade between the teams would make perfect sense.
But if the Clippers still want Anthony, they will need to give up lots of salary in return. Names mentioned most: J.J. Redick, Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers, or perhaps a combination involving all three.
According to the New York Post, “An inevitable shake-up is coming with the Clippers’ array of free agents. The team may not be dismantled after the first-round flameout, but it will be reconfigured. Anthony, if he so wishes, could be at the heart of their makeover.”
Anthony to the Clippers? Blake Griffin to the Oklahoma City Thunder? Redick to any team anywhere in free agency?
Ah, yes. The NBA offseason. Let the trade rumors swirl. And when it comes to those, no name may swirl more than that belonging to Carmelo Anthony.
