The Dallas Mavericks may be contemplating putting together an offer for Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio, according to a report from DallasBasketball.com.
Per the report:
The Mavs have had in-house talks about the trade availability of Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio – and about drafting PG Frank Ntilikina, too.
Rubio, 26, has also been repeatedly linked to the New York Knicks as a possible replacement for Derrick Rose.
As Hoops Rumors noted, Rubio still has two seasons and more than $29 million remaining on his contract. He averaged 11.1 points and 9.1 assists in 75 games this past season.
Dallas Basketball did not mention who the Mavericks may be discussing as potential return in a deal for Rubio.
The Mavs own the No. 9 overall pick in the draft. The Knicks, drafting eighth, are said to be extremely high on Ntilikina.
