Pistons’ Baynes opts for free agency, report says

Pistons center Aron Baynes is reportedly aiming to pick up a better deal as a free agent.

Detroit Pistons center Aron Baynes has declined his player option and decided to enter free agency, per a report from The Vertical.

The option was believed to be worth $6.5 million. By declining it, Baynes will become an unfrestricted free agent and able to sign with any team without the Pistons having a right to match the offer.

Baynes, 30, averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 75 games this past season.
