Pistons’ Griffin to miss at least a week

Pistons forward Blake Griffin is suffering from a right ankle injury.

Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin has a bruised right ankle and will miss at least a week, the team announced in a press release.

Griffin was obtained in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers at the end of January. He underwent an MRI on the ankle Thursday night.

He has played 25 games with the Pistons and is averaging 19.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in that span. Griffin, 29, spent his first nine seasons with the Clippers.
