The Detroit Pistons have decided to guarantee the contract of big man Eric Moreland for the rest of the season, according to a report from ESPN.
Sunday is the deadline for teams to make decisions on players with non-guaranteed deals, such as the one belonging to Moreland — who started for the fist time of his career Saturday night.
Moreland is 6-foot-10 power forward who has appeared in a career-high 33 games with the Pistons this season.
He stood out as a member of the G-League’s Canton Charge last season, and spent 11 total games with the Sacramento Kings from 2014-16.
Moreland, 26, is known as being a willing banger who works hard at all times. He is averaging 1.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 11.3 minutes (through Friday).
