Reports: Waiters, Heat agree to four-year deal

Dion Waiters of the Heat is frustrated by being sidelined once again with an injured left ankle.

Dion Waiters is staying in South Beach, as the scoring guard has re-signed with the Miami Heat, according to a report by ESPN.

Basketball Insiders is reporting that the Heat and Waiters are attempting to finalize a four-year deal worth $52 million.

In his first year with the Heat this past season, Waiters averaged 15.8 points per game and became a fan favorite throughout the league due to his clutch play during Miami’s playoff chase.

Waiters’ best stretch of the season was in February, where he averaged 18.4 points in the eight games he played in. The Heat went 6-2 with him in the lineup during that month.

Waiters was also being pursued by the New York Knicks, per ESPN.
