Pelicans’ Jackson needs second foot surgery

Pelicans rookie Frank Jackson will miss some time following a second foot surgery.

New Orleans Pelicans rookie point guard Frank Jackson will undergo surgery on a broken foot for the second time in three months Friday, according to a report from ESPN.

Jackson was selected with the No. 31 overall draft pick out of Duke after his freshman season.

Pear ESPN: “Jackson had a procedure on the same foot in May, before the NBA draft, to address a stress reaction that he played with during his freshman season at Duke.”

With veterans Jrue Holiday and Rajon Rondo on the roster, Jackson already had his work cut out for him when it came to playing time.

He signed a three-year contract with the team this summer. It has not yet been determined how much time Jackson is expected to miss.
