Milwaukee Bucks standout swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo currently has a shoe endorsement deal with Nike that runs until September.
Once his contract expires, Antetokounmpo will be free to sign with any shoe company he wants, and the Bucks forward is expected to get multiple extensive offers.
According to ESPN, Antetokounmpo could sign a deal worth as much as $7 million-$10 million per year. The 22-year-old will be looking for his own signature shoe as part of his new deal so that he can increase his worldwide brand.
“The bar was set with Porzingis, in terms of financials,” says one brand source. Some industry sources feel the Greek Freak could be looking at as much as $7-10 million annually on a new five-year endorsement deal.
“Giannis is a sure thing and unique,” says one industry source. “He does freakish s— that gets folks talking.”
Antetokounmpo averaged 22.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game this past season while shooting 52.1 percent from the field.
The Bucks’ franchise player is no longer a shy, skinny kid from Greece. Earlier this summer, Antetokounmpo said, “I might be the MVP this year.”
