Free agent forward Troy Williams has agreed to a three-year contract with the Houston Rockets, according to a report from ESPN.
Williams is a 6-foot-7 small forward and entering his second NBA season. He played 24 games for the Memphis Grizzlies as a rookie last year, before playing his final six regular-season games with the Rockets, starting three.
According to ESPN, the contract is “guaranteed first year with trigger dates for the second and third.”
Williams becomes the third forward the Rockets have signed in free agency in the span of just a few weeks — leading many to believe they are stocking up on players to help make another push for New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony.
Along with the Williams, the Rockets have signed free agent forwards P.J. Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute.
Wiilliams, 22, averaged 6.2 points and 2.3 rebounds after going undrafted out of Indiana in 2016.
