The New York Knicks will guarantee the contract of point guard Jarrett Jack for the remainder of the season, according to a report from Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.
Sunday is the deadline for teams to decide whether to pick up the contracts, or waive, players with non-guaranteed deals. The decision on Jack for the Knicks was a simple one, as Jack has been steady and the Knicks have played relatively well.
The well-traveled Jack, 34, has been a veteran leader and mentor for rookie Frank Ntilikina. Jack is averaging 7.2 points and 5.9 assists in 36 games.
Along with the Knicks, Jack has spent time with the Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Pelicans, Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets.
