Spurs’ Leonard to make season debut

San Antonio Spurs star forward Kawhi Leonard will make his season debut Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks, coach Gregg Popovich told reporters.

“Kawhi is back,” was Popovich’s simple announcement.

Leonard has been out since the start of training camp with a right quadriceps tendinopathy. He will be on a minutes restriction early in his return.

The Spurs enter Tuesday’s game at 19-8, third-best in the Western Conference.
