Warriors’ Thompson out with fractured thumb

Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson suffered a fractured right thumb during Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the sharpshooter is expected to be out a few weeks, according to multiple reports.

The Athletic was first to report that Thompson’s thumb ailment might be more serious than initially thought.

According to Yahoo Sports, Thompson is expected to return before the end of March.

Thompson is averaging 19.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 49.0 percent from the field and 44.3 percent from three. He will join backcourt-mate Steph Curry on the sidelines, as Curry remains out with an ankle injury.
