Humphries headed to camp with Sixers

Journeyman forward Kris Humphries is getting a tryout with the Sixers.

Free agent power forward Kris Humphries has agreed to a non-guaranteed training camp contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to a report from The Vertical.

Humphries has bounced around the league, but as The Vertical noted, is still considered a reliable veteran frontcourt player off the bench.

“Humphries had strong workouts for the 76ers on Monday and Tuesday, and will have an opportunity to make the team’s opening-night roster as insurance in the frontcourt,” The Vertical wrote.

Humphries, 32, is 6-foot-9 and has spent time with the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns.

He averaged 4.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 56 games with the Atlanta Hawks last season.
