The Los Angeles Clippers have offered their general manager position to Oklahoma City Thunder executive Michael Winger, and a deal is expected soon, according to a report from ESPN.
“Winger, an assistant GM/team counsel for the Thunder, would report directly to Lawrence Frank, the Clippers’ new president of basketball operations,” ESPN wrote.
The Clippers have been searching for a GM to work under Frank since head coach Doc Rivers relinquished his position in the front office following the season.
Winger, 37, has spent the previous seven years with GM Sam Presti and the Thunder. Prior to that, he worked five years with the Cleveland Cavaliers during the Danny Ferry regime.
