Teams evaluating deals for Lakers’ Russell?

D'Angelo Russell went for 40 points vs. the Cavaliers earlier this season.

Opposing teams have already begun contemplating a potential trade for Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell, according to a report from Sports illustrated.

The Lakers own the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and are supposedly leaning toward taking a guard, perhaps even UCLA’s Lonzo Ball, an LA product.

Per Sports Illustrated: “With the Los Angeles Lakers coming away with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft following Tuesday night’s lottery, multiple NBA teams are evaluating trade packages for D’Angelo Russell, league sources told SI.com.” (Full report.)

Washington guard Markelle Fultz and Kansas forward Josh Jackson are also believed to be in play with the second overall pick. The Boston Celtics hold the top overall pick.
