Kidd said to be in running for Lakers job if Walton is fired

Former Nets and Bucks coach Jason Kidd reportedly is among those under consideration to coach the Lakers next season.

As Amico Hoops reported five weeks ago, Jason Kidd is expected to get plenty of attention if Luke Walton is fired as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Marc J. Spears of ESPN reported Sunday that Kidd is expected to be a candidate to take over the program at his collegiate alma mater, California.

Kidd has been effusive in his praise for Lakers star LeBron James through the years, including before he was fired by the Milwaukee Bucks last season.
