Undrafted point guard Joel Berry has agreed to a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, the team announced in a press release.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Berry spent four seasons at North Carolina but was not selected in the 2018 NBA Draft.
The Lakers currently have veteran Rajon Rondo and second-year man Lonzo Ball playing point guard, as well as star forward and occasional ball-handler LeBron James.
Still, Berry could find a role as a third-stringer and regular member of the Lakers’ G-League affiliate.
He was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2017 NCAA Final Four after leading North Carolina to a national championship.
As a senior last season, Berry was named First Team All-ACC, compiling averages of 17.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.1 minutes per game.
