The Los Angeles Lakers will sign G-League forward Nigel Hayes to a 10-day contract, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.
Hayes has been playing for the Westchester Knicks.
Hayes went undrafted after averaging 14.0 points and 6.6 rebounds for Wisconsin last season. He is 6-foot-7 and was a key member of the Wisconsin team that made it to the NCAA championship game in 2015.
Hayes, 22, played for the Knicks’ summer league team in Orlando, averaging 5.2 points and 5.0 rebounds. He signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Knicks in August.
In 30 games with the Westchester Knicks, Hayes is averaging 14.9 points.
