Willams, who was slated to become an unrestricted free agent after this season, is having the best season of his career with the Clippers, averaging 23.3 points and 5.3 assists per game. The 12-year veteran guard has also played for Philadelphia, Atlanta, Toronto, the Lakers and Houston.
Earning $7 million this season, Williams is a career 13.5 points-per-game scorer. This extension figures to keep him with the Clippers, at least for the rest of the season, and perhaps beyond.
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m.
