Brooks agrees to 10-day deal with Grizzlies

Former first-round draft pick MarShon Brooks is making his way back to the NBA.

Free agent guard MarShon Brooks has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Yahoo Sports.

Brooks, 29, has spent the past three years playing professionally in China. The former first-round draft pick has not played in the NBA since 2013-14, when he played a combined 35 games with the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors.

Brooks averaged 12.6 points as a rookie with the New Jersey Nets, after being selected with the No. 25 overall draft pick.

Per Hoops Rumors:

“The Grizzlies currently have a full 15-man roster, so there are three possibilities for the team to open up a roster spot and finalize Brooks’ reported signing. Memphis could terminate Marquis Teague‘s 10-day contract, wait until after Teague’s deal expires on April 2, or waive another player with a guaranteed contract.”
