2018-18 Season Preview: Memphis Grizzlies

Marc Gasol and the Grizzlies will be looking to drastically improve on last season's 22-60 finish.

Coach: J.B. Bickerstaff (52-82, .388, first full season).

Last Season: 22-60, did not make playoffs.

Key Returnees: Marc Gasol, Michael Conley Jr., JaMychal Green, Dillon Brooks, Chandler Parsons, MarShon Brooks.

Key Additions: Jaren Jackson Jr. (rookie, Michigan State), Jevon Carter (rookie, West Virginia), Kyle Anderson (San Antonio), Omri Casspi (Golden State), Garrett Temple (Sacramento), Shelvin Mack (Orlando).

Key Losses: Tyreke Evans (Indiana), Jarell Martin (Orlando), Ben McLemore (Sacramento).

Outlook: J.B. Bickerstaff gets a shot to start the season for the Grizzlies, who used 24 players last season, after leading them to a 15-48 record as the interim coach after David Fizdale was given the gate. The return of Michael Conley Jr., who played in only 12 games last season before having heel surgery and a happy Marc Gasol, whose feud with Fizdale played a part in him being fired, should go a long way toward helping a turn for the better at The Grindhouse. Bringing in Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jevon Carter in the draft and signing 24-year-old Kyle Anderson to a four-year, $37 free-agent deal will also help. However, losing leading scorer Tyreke Evans (19.5 points per game), who chose to sign with Indiana, leaves a hole on the offensive end none of the newcomers is likely to fill by himself.
