Report: Olynyk, Heat agree to four-year deal

Free agent forward Kelly Olynyk is reportedly headed to South Beach.

Free agent power forward Kelly Olynyk and the Miami Heat have agreed to a four-year, $50 million-plus deal, according to a report by ESPN.

The fourth year of Olynyk’s contract with Miami is a player option, per ESPN.

The Celtics renounced Olynyk’s qualifying offer in order to make room for the signing of star Gordon Hayward possible.

The four-year big man from Gonzaga has career averages of 9.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Olynyk’s best game of the year was in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals against the Wizards. He scored 26 points in the series-clinching win on a staggering 71.4 percent shooting from the floor.

Olynyk will bring perimeter shooting and toughness to the Heat, who will look to make a playoff run next season in a weak Eastern Conference.
