The Milwaukee Bucks are releasing swingman James Young, coach Jason Kidd told reporters Wednesday.
Should Young clears waivers, he will likely be assigned to the Bucks’ G-League affiliate in Oshkosh, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Young is 6-foot-6 and was selected by the Boston Celtics with the No. 17 overall draft pick in 2014. He appeared in 29 games with the team last season, averaging 2.3 points. He signed with the Bucks last month, and has already spent plenty of time in the G League.
“Milwaukee has the maximum of 20 players in camp, so there will be one opening if Young does get released,” Hoops Rumors wrote. “The Bucks have just 14 guaranteed contracts, so there’s an opportunity for one of the non-guaranteed players to make the roster.”
