The auditions continue for the Atlanta Hawks, and the big names just keeping coming in.
In fact, two of the biggest are scheduled to take part in separate workouts for the Hawks on Thursday — with Duke forward Marvin Bagley III and Texas center Mohamed Bamba coming to town.
The Hawks hold the third overall pick in the draft, and there’s a chance the 6-foot-11 Bagley could be taken by then. But the Hawks will take a look, anyway.
Bagley averaged 21.0 and 11.0 rebounds as a freshman for the Blue Devils, setting freshman school records for most points (948), scoring average, rebounds (366), rebounds per game and double-doubles (22).
Meanwhile, Bamba is 6-11 and averaged 12.9 points, 10.5 rebounds and a whopping 3.7 blocks as freshman for the Longhorns. He is expected to be drafted somewhere in the top six or seven spots.
The Hawks worked out projected lottery pick and Oklahoma point guard Trae Young on Tuesday, and Michigan State big man Jaren Jackson Jr. on Wednesday.
Along with the third overall pick, the Hawks hold the 19th and 30th selections, as well a second-rounder (34th overall).
The draft is a week from Thursday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
