Star rookies dish on toughest player to defend

Lauri Markkanen will be sidelined six to eight weeks because of an elbow injury.

Four of the best rookies in the NBA this season sat down with Matt Winer on NBA TV’s Open Court show and were asked, “Who is the toughest player to guard in the NBA?”

Lauri Markkanen of the Chicago Bulls, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz and Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers were all thoughtful and insightful in providing their respective responses.

While all four first-year players are having excellent debut seasons in the league, Mitchell and Simmons are regarded by most as favorites to win Rookie of the Year honors.
