Julius Randle, who was renounced by the Los Angeles Lakers, is joining the New Orleans Pelicans, according to a report from ESPN.
Randle is signing a two-year, $18 million deal with the Pelicans, with the second year being a player option.

ESPN is reporting that Pelicans star Anthony Davis played a big role in recruiting Randle.
In 82 games this past season with the Lakers, Randle averaged 16.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists, shooting 55.8 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from three.
Randle asked the Lakers to renounce him, per ESPN.
According to multiple sources Julius Randle asked to be renounced by the the Lakers once it became clear his role could dramatically change this season and the team wasn’t interested in making a longer term commitment to him.
