Pelicans add Webster to camp roster

Free agent swingman Martell Webster has agreed to a training camp contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to a report from the The Associated Press

Webster has played 10 seasons in the NBA, but not since 2014-15 (with the Washington Wizards), when he underwent surgery for a torn hip labrum.

“The 6-foot-7 forward was a first-round pick in the 2005 NBA Draft and has averaged 8.7 points and 3.5 rebounds over his career,” the New Orleans Times-Picayune wrote.

“Webster joins fellow former first-round pick Perry Jones as one of the small forwards that will be working to make the Pelicans roster after the loss of Solomon Hill to a torn hamstring.”
