Blatt interviews with Knicks a second time

Longtime coach David Blatt is looking to return to the NBA.

Former Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt is looking to return to the NBA and it appears he’s progressing toward that goal.

According to the New York Post, Blatt met with the New York Knicks on Thursday in Europe — his second interview with the team.

Blatt coached the Cavaliers for all the 2014-15 season, leading them to an appearance in the Finals in his first NBA season. He was fired midway through the next year despite a 30-11 record.

For the past two seasons, Blatt has been coaching Darüşşafaka in the Turkish league.

The Knicks fired former coach Jeff Hornacek immediately after the final game of the regular season.

ESPN’s Mark Jackson, former Memphis Grizzlies coach David Fizdale and former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer are among the others who have been linked to the vacancy in New York.

Blatt’s name has also been mentioned as a potential candidate for the Phoenix Suns’ opening.
