The New York Knicks have waived forward Jamel Artis, according to a report from Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.
Artis is 6-foot-7 and went undrafted out of Pitt in June. He scored five points in seven minutes in his lone preseason game.
“Assuming Artis clears waivers and doesn’t sign with another NBA team, he’ll be eligible to join the Westchester Knicks, the Knicks’ G League team, as an affiliate player,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “The Knicks also have an open two-way slot and could sign Artis to a two-way contract.”
Jarrett Jack, Nigel Hayes and Xavier Rathan-Mayes are the Knicks’ three remaining camp invitees without guaranteed contracts.
