Free agent point guard Trey Burke has agreed to a contract with the New York Knicks, the team announced in a press release.
Burke is 6-foot-1 and averaged 5.0 points in 57 games with the Wizards last season.
The Knicks now have 20 players under contract and Burke will likely battle with Jarrett Jack for a spot in the Knicks’ backcourt, wrote Ian Begley of ESPN.
Burke, 24, was selected with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2013 draft. He reportedly agreed to a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this season but backed out.
He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Utah Jazz.
