Former Wisconsin forward Nigel Hayes has agreed to a partially guaranteed contract with the New York Knicks, according to a report from ESPN.
Hayes went undrafted after averaging 14.0 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Badgers this past season. He is 6-foot-7 and was a key member of the Wisconsin team that made it to the NCAA championship game in 2015.
Hayes, 22, played for the Knicks’ summer league team in Orlando, averaging 5.2 points and 5.0 rebounds.
The Knicks currently have 14 players under contract — though that could change depending on what becomes of Carmelo Anthony and the team’s efforts to trade him.
