Cole, Canaan, Sloan to work out for Hornets

Free agent point guard Norris Cole is reportedly contemplating an overseas offer.

Free agent point guards Norris Cole, Isaiah Canaan and Donald Sloan will work out for the Charlotte Hornets this week, according to multiple reports.

Cole, 28, played 13 games for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season after starting the season in China. He has also played for the New Orleans Pelicans, as well as the Miami Heat during the Big Three era of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Sloan, 29, spent all of last season in China. Prior to that, he spent five years in the NBA with the Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn Nets.

Canaan, 26, has spent time with the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls.

The Hornets are looking for another point guard to play behind Kemba Walker after parting ways with Brian Roberts and Ramon Sessions. The team did sign Michael Carter-Williams earlier this month.

The Charlotte Observer reported the news about Cole, while international journalist David Pick broke the news about Sloan. ESPN reported the Canaan addition.

Also, Basketball Insiders reported former Georgia guard J.J. Frazier will take part in the workout.
