The Orlando Magic have waived guard Rashad Vaughn, a former lottery pick, the team announced Tuesday.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Vaughn has been suffering from knee soreness. He signed a pair of 10-day contracts with the team, the second of which was set to expire Sunday.
The Magic now intend to sign Rodney Purvis of the G-League’s Lakeland Magic, the Sentinel reported. Purvis is averaging 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 37 games with Lakeland.
Vaughn, 21, was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the No. 17 overall pick in 2015. This season, he was traded by the Bucks to the Brooklyn Nets to the New Orleans Pelicans — who promptly waived him.
