Sixers’ Simmons likely to miss summer league

Ben Simmons was selected by the Sixers with the first overall draft pick last June.

Philadelphia 76ers swingman Ben Simmons missed the entire regular season of his rookie year, and it appears he will follow that by missing the entire summer league.

Simmons’ coach, Brett Brown, broke the news during a radio interview Friday.

Simmons is 6-foot-10 and can play just about any position on the floor — or so they say. We haven’t seen him yet. At least not in the NBA. But his one season at LSU convinced the Sixers to take him No. 1 overall in 2016. he then missed the year with a broken foot.

On the bright side, Simmons was back in the gym and working out, as videos circulating Thursday on the Internet showed.
