Sixers land veteran guard Belinelli

Former Hawks guard Marco Belinelli is reportedly headed to the 76ers.

Veteran shooting guard Marco Belinelli will sign with the Philadelphia 76ers upon clearing waivers, according to Yahoo Sports.

Belinelli’s contract was bought out by the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. He had been the subject of trade rumors after the Hawks decided to openly look for deals, but they were unable to find a taker prior to Thursday’s deadline.

Belinelli took to Twitter Saturday night, offering a signal he is indeed Philly-bound.

Along with the 76ers, Belinelli has reportedly drawn interest from the San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Belinelli is averaging 11.4 points on the season while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 37.2 percent on 3-pointers. His deal with the Sixers will be worth the veteran minimum and run through the rest of the season.
