Suns guarantee Canaan deal for season

Isaiah Canaan has been waived by the Suns, per a report.

The Phoenix Suns have guaranteed the contract of point guard Isaiah Canaan for the remainder of the season, according to a report from Scott Bordow of AZCentral.com.

Canaan has appeared in 10 games for the Suns, averaging 10.0 points and 4.9 assists. He has recently been sidelined with a a left adductor strain.

Canaan, 26, was signed using the Suns’ hardship exception after four players went down with injuries.

Sunday was the final day for teams to guarantee or waive players on non-guaranteed contracts.

Canaan has also spent time with the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls.
