Joe Prunty has agreed to a deal to become the lead assistant coach for Igor Kokoskov, the new head coach for the Phoenix Suns, according to a report.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports Prunty, who had been the interim head coach for Jason Kidd after he was fired by the Milwaukee Bucks, and led Milwaukee to the playoffs, where it pushed the Boston Celtics to seven games in a first-round series.

Prunty went 21-16 with the Bucks after taking over for Kidd and interviewed to become the head coach. The job eventually went to former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer.
