Magic ship Purvis to Thunder for Johnson

Former Magic guard Rodney Purvis reportedly worked out for the Cavaliers.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a trade that will send center Dakari Johnson to the Orlando Magic for shooting guard Rodney Purvis, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.

“OKC sheds Johnson’s guaranteed $1.4M salary, with Purvis on non-guaranteed minimum for next season,” Yahoo reported. “Cash considerations is expected to go to Orlando too.”

Johnson appeared in 31 games last season and averaged less than two points. He was selected by the Thunder out of Kentucky in the second round (No. 48 overall) of the 2015 draft.

Purvis, who went undrafted out of Connecticut in 2017, appeared in six games for the Magic last season, compiling averages of 6.0 points and 1.7 rebounds.
