Former NBA point guard Royal Ivey is a candidate to join David Fizdale’s coaching staff with the New York Knicks, according to The Athletic.
Ivey, 36, has been an assistant with the Oklahoma City Thunder since 2016. Prior to that he worked as an assistant with the Oklahoma City Blue of the G League.
Ivey played in the NBA from 2004-14, spending time with the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Thunder.
Fizdale was named Knicks head coach May 7.
