Well-traveled Williams cut by Kings

Marcus Williams was originally drafted by the Nets back in 2006.

The Sacramento Kings have waived guard Marcus Williams, the team announced on its website.

Williams, 31, appeared in two preseason games and averaged 6.0 points and 3.0 assists in 15.7 minutes. He scored nine points against the San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 6.

He was originally selected by the Brooklyn Nets with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2006 draft following his junior season at Connecticut.

After four seasons in the NBA with the Nets, Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies, Williams has spent the majority of his time playing overseas.
