Magic’s Vucevic on Kings’ free-agency wish list?

Magic center Nikola Vucevic was an All-Star for the first time and is averaging career-highs in points and rebounds.

The Sacramento Kings have Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic on their radar, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

“I know he’s a target, and I know that it will likely require the max,” Amick wrote in a reader mailbag.

Vucevic, 28, is having an All-Star season with career-high averages of 20.8 points, 12.1 rebounds and 52 percent shooting. He becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season.

The Magic (37-38) enter Wednesday’s game at the Detroit Pistons in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, a half-game ahead of the Miami Heat. Their offseason priority is to keep Vucevic.

The Kings are looking to make a move in free agency to help their young core of De’Aaron Fox, Willie Cauley-Stein and Buddy Heild.

“They’ve stayed with it,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of the Magic. “It’s tough to build cultures when you’re constantly making changes. They’ve got a core of guys that they stayed with that have gotten better.”

The New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers and several others are also believed to have Vucevic on their radar.
