Report: Spurs could trade Aldridge

Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge reportedly may be a candidate for a trade.

LaMarcus Aldridge left Portland for a chance at greater things in San Antonio. But last season’s Spurs got no further than the Trail Blazers.

Both ended up losing in the Western Conference semifinals. And now, the Spurs may be finding Aldridge isn’t the best fit.

According to an interview with legendary NBA writer Jackie MacMullan, the power forward could soon be available.

Per MacMullan on CSNNE:

Sources were telling me the other day that LaMarcus Aldridge may not even finish the year with the Spurs. That experiment hasn’t quite worked out the way they hoped.

MacMullan went on to say there may be “some stuff going on” with Aldridge that could play a role in the Spurs’ potential attempts to move him. Whatever it is, the Spurs would certainly get a ton in return — as Aldridge is still considered among the game’s top forwards.

It’s rare for the Spurs to be the subject of trade rumors. But according to MacMullan, you may want to stay tuned.
