Gasol signed a two-year deal with the Spurs last summer. He averaged 12.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this past year.
The future Hall-of-Famer will provide his usual rebounding and post scoring.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, “Gasol last month declined the $16 million option on his contract for next season with the Spurs with the intent of signing a longer-term deal, a move that would give the franchise some flexibility in the free agent market.”
