Gasol re-signs with Spurs on three-year deal

Pau Gasol of the Spurs said the frustrations of his younger brother, Marc, with the struggling Grizzlies are understandable.

Veteran big man Pau Gasol is re-signing with the San Antonio Spurs on a three-year deal, according to ESPN.

The deal includes a partial guarantee in the third year of the contract, per ESPN.

Gasol signed a two-year deal with the Spurs last summer. He averaged 12.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this past year.

The future Hall-of-Famer will provide his usual rebounding and post scoring.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, “Gasol last month declined the $16 million option on his contract for next season with the Spurs with the intent of signing a longer-term deal, a move that would give the franchise some flexibility in the free agent market.”
