Raptors 905 guard Lorenzo Brown has been upgraded to a regular contract for the rest of the season, according to Yahoo Sports.
Brown was named the G League Most Valuable Player.
He signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors in July, then went on to average 18.9 points and 8.9 assists with the team’s minor league affiliate.
Brown is in his fifth G League season and helped lift Raptors 905 to the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. They lost to the Austin Spurs in the G League championship series.
Brown appeared in 14 games with the NBA East-leading Raptors this season. He has also served NBA stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns.
Current Golden State Warriors guard Quin Cook finished second in the G League MVP voting, with current New York Knicks guard Trey Burke ending up third.
