Powell, Raptors agree to four-year extension

Norman Powell has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Raptors.

The Toronto Raptors and guard Norman Powell have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $42 million, according to multiple reports.

Powell is in his third season and was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the year. He averaged 8.4 points in 76 games last season — increasing that average to 11.7 points in the playoffs, when he shot 44 percent on 3-pointers.

He was the No. 46 overall pick out of UCLA in 201 draft.

Powell holds a player option on the final year of the contract extension.
