Nets sign power forward Davis to one-year deal

Ed Davis has signed a one-year contract to join the Brooklyn Nets.

Ed Davis is heading east, according to a report.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports the free-agent forward has agreed on a one-year, $4.4-million contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

Davis, 29, averaged 5.3 points and 7.4 rebounds in 18.9 minutes in 78 games, all off the bench, for the Portland Trail Blazers last season.

The 6-foot-10, 240-pound eight-year veteran out of North Carolina shot 58.2 percent from the field last season.
