The Denver Nuggets will be a team to watch as the NBA trade deadline approaches.
Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports reports Denver, facing salary-cap issues for the 2018-19 season, will be actively involved in talks.
“The Nuggets are a team to watch,” Mannix reports. “Denver could have cap problems next season, so there is some momentum there to make a deal now.”
As to specific players, Mannix mentions a pair of Nuggets the team would be interested in moving.
“Emmanuel Mudiay is available, and Denver would love to get out of the final year of Wilson Chandler’s contract,” he said. “The Nuggets have interest in (Marcus) Smart, but are among the teams unwilling to meet Boston’s asking price.”
Along with those players, the Nuggets are also said to be eyeing potential trades for forward Kenneth Faried, who supposedly could be had fairly easily, and underrated swingman Will Barton — though the team prefers to keep him.
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m.
