The Los Angeles Clippers have acquired center Alexis Ajinca from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for small forward Wesley Johnson, Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank announced in a news release.
“Wes is a versatile player and consummate professional and consummate professional who impacts the game at both ends of the floor,” Frank said, before thanking Johnson and wishing him the best.
The Clippers intend to waive Ajinca, along with point guard Juwan Evans, according to multiple reports.
Johnson, 31, averaged 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds over three seasons with the Clippers.
Ajinca, 30, holds career averages of 5.3 points and 3.9 rebounds over seven NBA seasons.
Evans, 22, appeared in three games for the Clippers last season and averaged 2.0 points.
