The New Orleans Pelicans have received permission to talk with Los Angeles Clippers assistant general manager Trent Redden about a senior front-office role, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
New Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin worked closely with Redden during their time together with the Cleveland Cavaliers, with whom they won an NBA championship in 2016.
Redden became assistant general manager with the Clippers shortly after he departed the Cavaliers in 2017, soon after Griffin could not reach a contract extension with Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert. Redden spent 11 years with the Cavaliers.
