The New Orleans Pelicans have released veteran forward Josh Smith, according to a report from The Vertical.
The Pelicans signed Smith on Oct. 25 under an injury hardship exception after point guard Rajon Rondo went down.

Smith, 31, played a total of 11 minutes with the Pelicans, scoring two points and grabbing four rebounds.
The former slam-dunk champion has career averages of 14.5 points and 7.4 rebounds.
